Karsten was a force of nature who loved all and judged none. One of his favorite sayings was “Sports and life is the same word spelled differently.” He led with his generosity, always focused on the positives, acknowledged the strengths of others, and worked as a team player for the greater good. His life tragically ended too soon in a car crash in 2018.

Since his death, we have held annual golf tournaments and raised money for a UO scholarship program in Karsten’s name. We have also made donations to the new YMCA in Eugene. Our community outreach helped us decide to create a non-profit in his honor. This non-profit is built on his legacy of giving back to the community that he loved. Providing funding for sports and educational programs for all. We hope to expand our reach by donating to other venues such as Kidsports and continued donations to the YMCA to provide scholarships and support for youth in our community.
