A letter from David Minter:

I am writing to express my deep appreciation for the continued support that KTLSC has provided to youth programs throughout the Rogue Valley. Over the past seven years, their financial contributions have made a significant and lasting impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

KTLSC has been instrumental in supporting David’s Bike Program and the Central Point School District’s Ski and Snowboard Program. Each year, an average of 30 to 50 refurbished bicycles are distributed to children across the valley. In partnership with Rogue Valley Transportation District and local law enforcement agencies, a dedicated volunteer group repurposes old, lost, and broken bicycles—transforming them into valuable tools for youth engagement and outdoor activity.

Beyond recreation, these bicycles also serve a vital role in transportation. Young adults receive bikes to commute to school and work, while families, including parents—are sometimes provided bicycles to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and shared family activities.

Many of the children served are living in poverty, experiencing homelessness, or otherwise lacking access to reliable transportation or extracurricular opportunities. Thanks to the generous support from KTLSC, bike repairs, replacement parts (such as tubes and chains), and full scholarships for ski and snowboard programs have been made possible. Their support has allowed countless youth—who would otherwise be excluded—to participate in these life-enriching programs.

KTLSC’s dedication has not only provided tangible resources but has also fostered a sense of inclusion, freedom, and hope among the children and families they support. The Rogue Valley has benefited immensely from their generosity and commitment to community well-being.

With sincere gratitude,
David Minter
